High Performance by Design
Knowledge Management and Human Resource management are both suffering from increasing dissatisfaction amongst end users and organisational leadership - Harvard Business Review in its July/August 2015 edition going so far as to ask whether it was time to "blow up" HR. KM is no better, with 2015 research, encompassing 729 respondents from 54 countries, demonstrating that almost 50% of respondents were dissatisfied with KM's contribution to their organisation's strategic objectives.
Our 2016 courses look at why this dissatisfaction occurs from the user/manager/leadership perspective. Applying design-thinking principles, participants will be introduced to new ways to understand, simplify and humanise complex organisational problems.
Delivery method:
Action-based problem-solving (knowledge Hacking)
Empathy Mapping
Knowledge Cafe style discussion groups
Case studies, with facilitator as a key informant
*This is a highly interactive course and PowerPoint slides are kept to a minimum
Evidence-based models from award winning research and practice conducted by David, supplemented by other evidence-based models from practice. The seminar will involve high levels of learner participation. All content is situated in a real world context and applied against real world problems. The course will also use case examples from various industries to contextualise the tools/frameworks under discussion.
By the end of the course participants will have been introduced to:
The context of Business 2020
The emerging future of work
Frameworks for understanding complexity and dealing with ambiguity.
Design thinking principles in action - directly linked to problem identification and problem solving in organisations.
7 Principles of High Performance (what they are, why they are important and how to work to develop them)
Methods for developing value-driven policy and practice
Award winning case examples of engagement and involvement in practice.
Do you know?
When receiving sequences of information people suffer from the "hole-in-the-middle effect:" most people recall what they receive first (primacy) and last (recency), but forget what was in the middle!
